Inclusion is an important topic in our world as we are in the midst of all racial, political, and social tensions globally. It has been said that “The spirit of inclusion” begins with how we see others. It is seeing everyone as equal. To start this process, one must recognize others’ capacity and capabilities and treat each as spiritual gifts. But what does Jesus say about inclusion? 

Scriptural accounts of Jesus provide a constant witness of this inclusiveness. Jesus sought out and welcomed all people into the Kingdom of God — the gentile and the Jew, women, and men, the poor and the wealthy, the slave and the free, the sick, and the healthy. He lived and behaved in a spirit of inclusiveness founded on justice and love.

Christians must learn to share individual and collective experiences that enrich others’ lives, our communities, and our neighbor’s communities.
